In August 2009, 24 children from across Canada between the ages of 10 and 12 laced up their skates during the Score for Colitis and Crohn’s national contest featuring the Edmonton Oiler’s Fernando Pisani.

Since being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) four years ago, Edmonton Oilers star Fernando Pisani has become a leading advocate for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

‘’This will be a fun day to raise awareness of colitis and Crohn’s,’’ says Pisani, who, through treatment, has been able to resume his NHL career – a career that was threatened by his diagnosis.
