- (In progress): We are currently conducting a research project in Northern Alberta to understand the unique needs of IBD patients, families, and medical professionals in rural areas. The projects is being conducted by a professional helthcare research firm to identify gaps and challenges in IBD care in rural communities. Data will be reviewed by an advisory panel and a recommendations report published. MARCH will use that report as a foundation for championing initiatives to improve patient care and quality of life for IBD patients living in rural areas of Canada. The project's health partners include the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services. The project has been made possible by a generous research grant provided by Abbott Laboratories.
